Learning
Northwestern Michigan College (NMC) and Waterlution are excited to co-present this professional, academic, and community-based, Virtual Speaker Series on mapping the Great Lakes. The scale and importance of these water bodies are so large that managing and protecting them is a monumental task that requires bi-national collaboration, sharing knowledge and, working together to address gaps, and develop skills for professionals across water/marine sectors to support resilient communities across the Great Lakes.
ENGAGE
NOW
Each session will provide a collaborative platform to connect the data on the Great Lakes in the development of US-Canadian actions, and inform public policy decision making on both sides of the border.
COLLABORATION
Coupled with network collaboration activities to deepen the binational communication and enhance longer-term partnerships, speakers will discuss applied technologies and sensors used in the mapping (bathymetry), and marine data processing while outlining the connections between data and policy
The Speaker Series brings together the strengths of both organizations combining the technical knowledge and expertise from Northwestern Michigan College around Great Lakes marine mapping, data collection, and latest technology with Waterlution’s capacity-building skills training and virtual network support across the region.
There is no cost to participate in the Series yet registration is required. Links to participate will be emailed to all registered participants a few days prior to each session.
