Over the last few weeks, we’ve been INSPIRED by th Over the last few weeks, we’ve been INSPIRED by the ways our Youth for Resilient Communities participants showcased water in their own way. 💙 Two submissions were selected to be painted by Waterlution team member and artist Helena Vallée-Dallaire (@helena.vd). The first painting made its way from Quebec to the remote island of Bamfield, British Columbia, to Y4RC Cohort 3 participant Eden Perry! After the wedding at Goldstream Park, my friends and I went camping together at Lake Cowichan and stayed near Honeymoon Bay, which was a beautiful place to relax and spend time. This photo was from our first evening there, we went for a sunset walk and swim by the lake. Yesterday, we had an AMAZING turnout during the Y4 Yesterday, we had an AMAZING turnout during the Y4RC welcome call for our 4th cohort! This brand new cohort will feature 90 youths across the country as they expand their leadership skills and work on community climate action and resilience initiatives. He said it was some of the best lights he had seen in his four months up there. I was visiting my friend for a few days in Yellowknife, where he was working for the federal government doing bird conservation and GIS. So we drove down the hill that RDL rests on, and managed to capture a lovely moment of serenity at sunset, where the waters were calm but textured, and the sky offered us a beautiful assemblage of oranges, pinks and blues. This is a different view and experience of the St. Lawrence from my usual time in Montreal. As we walked along the shore, a beaver relative appeared in the water, almost as if they had come to greet us. My family and I decided to end off the summer with a barbeque and to dip our toes in the water. For me, it was extra special as it was the first family trip with my nephew, who was about 5 months at the time. One of the many crops we won’t have due to extreme weather. We recieved more than a years worth of rain in less than a month. Weather is always challenging for farmers but extreme weather events like this are becoming more and more common. The land we lease is surrounded by development and annual mono-cropping, which is extra susceptible to rainfall like this. Lake Ontario has always been the closest body of water to me. A close friend of mine we used to go every Canada Day. He passed away from a cycling accident last year. A standout element of this journey is the immersive 7-day in-person gathering from October 24–31st, 2026, on the traditional territories of the Chief Drygeese and Yellowknives Dene First Nation (NWT).
