On the week of February 26 to March 4, our project

On the week of February 26 to March 4, our project lead Laurence met with Kuujjuaq’s local 3D artist Rob McLay in Jaanimmarik school’s art classes to talk about his perspective on water with the students. They were then invited to participate in the final artwork by representing water around them with a medium of their choice. As of right now, the students are finishing up their contribution to the artpiece!

There’s a snow desert in between Kuujjuaq and th

There’s a snow desert in between Kuujjuaq and the Ungava Bay, called “the land”, where there’s no cell service or access to water/electricity. There is a practicable road for cars, but it stops at some point (there’s a sign that says “end of the road”), and it’s still a very long way to go to Ungava Bay.
Laurence @lauethier is leading the UNITY project here in Kuujjuaq, and it would not have been possible without the support of the local community, who are so welcoming and willing to share a lot of their daily life with Laurence!
