Un-Managing (title)
Flowing, rolling, bubbling,
Brush away the troubling,
Falling, splashing, absorbing,
Keeping life, entrenching.
Washing, scrubbing, cleansing,
Daily acts-all granting,
Soaking, drenching, wetting,
Usefulness never ending
One-precipitating
Always circulating,
Two-evaporating,
Believing is seeing?
Growing and drinking,
All things need watering,
The basis of living,
Life forms need respecting"
I belong to the Coast Salish people of the Pacific northwest. My Ancestral name is Tsimalanoxw Cheam. The majority of my professional jobs relate strongly to our natural environment which is consistent with the meaning of my real name,"First Man of this Land". I am married to Wenona Victor (aka Hall) who is Coast Salish as well and we have three lovely kids. My oldest is Jade who is our little water baby - she is 11.
I have an Associate Degree from Malaspina University-College in Community Development and Natural Resources. Also, I have served on the Cultas Lake Sockeye Recovery Team and have a strong network of community based watershed organizations.
Currently, I am on Cheam First Nation's leadership council and work for Stolo Tribal Council. I am very proud to say that I have worked for the Fraser Basin Council as an Aboriginal Community Liaison Manager.
